Managing the writing process
Be organised and systematic.
A systematic approach to writing will reduce some of the challenges of writing for the Web and produce a more satisfying result for the writer and reader.
Some hints and tips to help with the writing process:
- set aside a block of time for writing, such as three hours
- find a quiet area away from your email inbox, phone and people
- have the relevant reference books nearby – Australian Government Style manual, Macquarie Dictionary and this Guide
- make sure you understand the publishing and approvals process for the content you are about to write or edit.
