Dates and times
When presenting dates and times follow these rules:
- 24 March 2010
- 24 Mar 2010 - do not abbreviate the month
- a date in numerals 19.02.10
- 19/2/2010 or 19/02/10
- 1990s
- 1990's - no apostrophe
- AD 1970 - only use AD or BC if it is necessary for clarity
- 50 BC
- 1945-46
- 1945-6
- 12 hour clock – 9.15 am or 4.35 pm
- 24 hour clock – 0915 or 1635
